CLASP aims to provide a high quality child led play setting, where children are offered play opportunities in a fun and stimulating environment and to provide affordable child care for the parents of Leith.

CLASP was set up as a charity to provide affordable after-school care for the local community, and as such is a non-profit organisation run by staff and a Management Committee consisting of parent volunteers. Membership of the Committee is open to all parents, and we always welcome and actively encourage parent’s participation.
We aim to provide excellent after-school provision which reflects the needs and wishes of children and parents, and in order to continually improve the service, the views of children and parents are extremely important. CLASP has quarterly committee meetings with a free crèche facility if required to allow all parents to attend.
Each day CLASP provides art or baking activities alongside games in our main room. The playground is used for physical play, as is the grass opposite when the weather is suitable. We also have open either our Computer Room, Art Room or our Chill Out Den which is used for relaxing, playing pool, air hockey or table tennis and playing computer games. We try to make full use of Leith Links and regularly take the children there. The club also provides a small snack each day and a piece of fruit for each child.
In line with all After School Clubs, we are registered with The Care Inspectorate and have spot checks as standard. CLASP received grade 5 “Very Good” in all four areas in our last Care Inspectorate inspection. A copy of this report is available in the CLASP office for you to read.
